The Stanford Cardinal had nearly an entire week to sulk about their loss to Bay Area rival Cal, but they also got a chance on Thursday to avenge their earlier loss to Arizona State.

They headed to Tempe where they took on what has been a frisky Arizona State team, and were able to pull out the 71-62 win despite trailing by as many as nine points at times. Led by big men Maxime Raynaud and Brandon Angel, who each had double-doubles, Stanford never let the game slip from their grasp.

Raynaud had 12 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, while Angel scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds of his own. The two nearly outrebounded the entire Arizona State team, who grabbed just 33 boards.

Stanford also got a massive night from Michael Jones who knocked down five threes and totaled 18 points on the night. The win moves Stanford to 11-9 on the year, and they are now tied for third place in the Pac-12, and are just one game back of the top spot.

They will look to continue to fight up the rankings on Sunday when they take No. 11 Arizona, whom they beat earlier in the year thanks to a record number of threes. The Wildcats are currently tied with Oregon for the top spot in the conference.
