Stanford's Andrej Stojakovic Emerges As One-And-Done NBA Draft Prospect

On3 has released its 2024 NBA Draft prospects and Stanford Cardinal Andrej Stojakovic has made their list.

It's never too early to start looking into NBA Draft prospects, right? With the season approaching, there are a few particular standouts that On3 has in mind, one being Stanford's five-star freshman Andrej Stojakovic.

Stojakovic is the son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic, so he is quite familiar with the league, but that could also mean some outside pressure to uphold his legendary name. This being said, not much talk has circled around his freshman year with the Cardinal, but the season still has yet to begin.

Stojakovic is a wing, but possesses some skills as a guard. Stanford has been known recently in developing wings for the draft, so this is positive news for the 6-foot-7 190-pound athlete.

Already, though, Stojakovic, a McDonald's All-America has proved he can play ball. He changes his style of game based on the circumstances, but does not seem to take charge on the court. The wing uses his size and height to his advantage when facing his defenders and is solid with his midrange.

However, his strength could be seen as a disadvantage, especially defensively. His lack of quickness makes it difficult for him to keep up with the guards. Stojakovic's athletic abilities would stretch a wider length if his build matched his dominance with height more similarly.

Here is On3's Jamie Shaw's breakdown of what the future Stanford star brings to the table.

Andrej Stojakovic is the son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic and was a McDonald’s All-American, so it is not like he is completely off the radar. However, he does not have a lot of buzz coming into his freshman year at Stanford. A quick look at the roster, and you see the opportunity. Also, in looking at Stanford recently, and they have produced wings toward the NBA Draft. Things will need to go right for Stojakovic, but he has the confidence and the skill set to put up numbers. How quickly he adjusts to being the focal point of opposing defenses could play a role here, but he is carrying some momentum that, with a quick start to the season, he could pop up on NBA Draft boards.

The former top-25 recruit may have a chance to be a one-and-done college player to the NBA, like patterns have recently shown. However, Stanford's aid in his development as a player will be crucial for Stojakovic to live up to his NBA name.
