Stanford Escapes With Overtime Win Against Oregon State
The Stanford Cardinal needed a bounce-back performance following their loss against USC which saw them look as sloppy as they had all season.
For the final leg of a three-game road trip, they headed up to Corvallis to take on Oregon State. The Beavers were leading seemingly all game, but the Cardinal hung around and stayed within reach until the very end. Stanford went on to win by a score of 88-84, but it certainly took some persistence.
The Cardinal went on a mini run with a little over a minute remaining that saw them take a 71-70 lead, which the Beavers ended up erasing with free throws. Stanford's star freshman Kanaan Carlyle hit a shot to retake the lead, but the Beavers ended up having a chance to take the lead but missed one of the two free throws so the game was tied at 73 with just seconds remaining.
Stanford got a couple of shots off, but was unable to sink the game-winner. In overtime, it was clear that the Cardinal had all of the momentum. They immediately took the lead thanks to a pair of free throws from Carlyle, regained the lead after an Oregon State bucket thanks to a Brandon Angel three, and never looked back.

They also got a strong 19 points from Brandon Angel, and Maxime Raynaud added 18 points and 13 rebounds of his own despite fouling out.
Stanford (8-7) will return home for a game against Utah (12-4) on Sunday. The Utes are coming off a win against UCLA that saw them win by 46 points.
