247Sports' Steve Wiltfong likes where Stanford stands for four-star quarterback Elijah Brown
Troy Taylor's 2024 recruiting class at Stanford has been erupting as of late, and there is a possibility that the class lands a player that is a borderline five-star.
Mater Dei (CA) quarterback Elijah Brown spent the past few days participating in the Elite 11 finals, and is one of the most decorated high school quarterbacks in the country. He holds a 29-1 record and this most recent season he threw for 2,785 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions en route to a 12-1 season.
While he and the other top quarterbacks were participating in the Elite 11 event, Brown is just one of two quarterbacks at the event that hasn't yet committed to a school. Something that should change soon according to 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong, who also said he likes where the Cardinal stand in Brown's recruitment.
Wiltfong is 247Sports' Director of Recruiting and typically when he gives a prediction for a recruit it comes to fruition. Brown is down to Stanford and UCLA, but the Cardinal seen to have the advantage. To add on to it, I spoke with sources at the event, and they confirmed to me that they also really like where Stanford stands with Brown. Thanks to a very eventful month of June, Stanford has seen their class jump all the way from around No. 60 in the country to the No. 9 class in the country so adding Brown would be another great addition for a strong class.
Stanford has landed 15 commitments this month, and if they were to land Brown he would be the highest ranked commit in the class. While many people have overlooked the hiring of Taylor at Stanford, the former Sacramento State head coach clearly has a plan when it comes to recruiting, and his very high scoring offense is something that can attract high level recruits.
Brown would by far be the biggest win for Taylor in his early tenure in Palo Alto.
