According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Stanford star and current MVP candidate for the San Francisco 49ers, Christian McCaffrey, will play in Monday night's game against the Vikings.

There were questions surrounding his availability due to an oblique injury that he suffered in their loss last week to the Cleveland Browns. The report by Schefter revealed that he was a limited participant in practice this week, as he didn't take any hits all week.

Unlike his time in Carolina, McCaffrey has yet to miss a game in the Bay, and is currently in the midst of a streak that has seen him record a touchdown in 15 straight games. It is also a plus for the 49ers due to the fact that they will be without star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and left tackle Trent Williams.

McCaffrey's return and a good performance could keep him in the mix for NFL MVP, as he is widely viewed as one of the top candidates thus far.
