In this story:

College football fans are anxiously looking at their calendars and hoping that somehow the over 100 days until their favorite team plays turns into a single digit number.

We got our taste of college football this past month with spring games taking place, but now that those have all passed and the transfer portal is drying up, there is little semblance of college football happening. That is unless you like to place wagers on games months in advance.

FanDuel recently released win total odds for college football teams, which of course comes at the perfect time for those who live in states where sports gambling is legal. With college football so far away it gives us an opportunity to look ahead and forecast the success of certain teams, while also giving us a tad bit of clarity of how some teams may be receiving too much hype.

Let's take a look at the teams in the Pac-12 and what their win total odds are heading into the 2023 season.

Stanford

Troy Taylor
Stanford Athletics

Win Total Odds: 3.5

Breakdown: The Cardinal lost nearly 20 players to the transfer portal and also lost seven players to the NFL. They are a very inexperienced team with a new head coach in Troy Taylor who badly needs to reenergize a program stuck in a trance of mediocrity.

Colorado

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 3.5

Breakdown: The new look Buffs will almost have an entirely new roster headlined by former four and five-stars, but clearly the oddsmakers are still doubting the Buffs. Colorado's schedule is extremely tough, and clearly that is what is keeping them towards the bottom.

Cal

California Bears running back Jadyn Ott (6) carries the ball as Notre Dame Fighting Irish linebacker Marist Liufau (8) attempts to tackle in the first quarter at Notre Dame Stadium.
Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 4.5

Breakdown: Cal is a team that has made some transfer additions, revamped their offense, but is still projected to end up the wrong side of .500. Their quarterback situation is murky at best, and could be why their win total is as low as it is.

Arizona State

Win Total Odds: 4.5

Breakdown: Arizona State is in good hands with Kenny Dillingham at the helm, but he still needs to flip the roster even more and rebuild the culture.

Arizona

Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Jacob Cowing (2) scores a touchdown against the San Diego State Aztecs during the first half at Snapdragon Stadium

Win Total Odds: 4.5

Breakdown: Arizona was a five win team a year ago, and greatly improved after Jedd Fisch's first year. Clearly the oddsmakers think that they will not take the next step to become bowl eligible.

Washington State

Washington State Cougars running back Max Borghi (21) celebrates a score with teammates Washington State Cougars wide receiver Donovan Ollie (6) and Washington State Cougars wide receiver Lincoln Victor (85) during a game against the Brigham Young Cougars in the first half at Gesa Field at Martin Stadium.Washington State Cougars running back Max Borghi (21) celebrates a score with teammates Washington State Cougars wide receiver Donovan Ollie (6) and Washington State Cougars wide receiver Lincoln Victor (85) during a game against the Brigham Young Cougars in the first half at Gesa Field at Martin Stadium.

Win Total Odds: 6.5

Breakdown: The Cougars find themselves in the middle of the pack, and if Cam Ward can take the next step they should easily surpass six wins

UCLA

UCLA Bruins head coach Chip Kelly in the first half against the Southern California Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 8.5

Breakdown: No Dorian Thompson-Robinson or Zach Charbonnet? No problem apparently for the Bruins, as they are right in the thick of things.

Utah

Utah Utes cornerback Clark Phillips III (8) runs back an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Washington State Cougars at Rice-Eccles Stadium
Jeffrey Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 8.5

Breakdown: The Utes are in the midst of attempting to three-peat, but there are a few more players in contention for the Pac-12 title this year.

Oregon State

Win Total Odds: 8.5

Breakdown: The Beavers are a team with Pac-12 Championship hopes, and a team that with more consistent quarterback play could surprise a ton of fans across the country.

Oregon

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 9.5

Breakdown: Oregon is tied among the top for teams with the highest win total in the conference. Bo Nix elected to return for a fifth year, and Ducks fans are hopeful that this will be their year.

USC

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 9.5

Breakdown: The Trojans very well could have made the College Football Playoff a year ago had they not imploded. 2023 could be that year for them.

Washington

Washington Huskies defensive lineman Tuli Letuligasenoa (91) tackles Michigan State Spartans quarterback Payton Thorne (10) for no gain during the second quarter at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Win Total Odds: 9.5

Breakdown: The Huskies are running it back with all of their stars from a year ago, and the expectations for them are to contend for the Pac-12 title and beyond.
