Late on Monday night, Stanford received some unfortunate news for their recruiting class as they ended up losing a pledge from four-star linebacker Nakoi Tuakoi.

The Oakland native took to the app formerly known as Twitter to thank the staff for recruiting him and their hospitality, but expressed that he was backing off his commitment.

Tuakoi was one of the handful of players that committed back in June, when Stanford landed around 20 commitments. He currently  holds 18 offers, with Arizona being the only other school he officially visited accoridng to 247Sports, but programs like USC, Oregon State, Utah and Oregon are all schools that he holds offers from.

Following his departure, Stanford's recruiting class has fallen out of the top 25 and is currently ranked as the No. 26 class in the country. Tuakoi marks the fourth decommitment of the class, but Stanford is still trending in the right direction.
