Stanford Coach Troy Taylor Says Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is 'Special'
Coming off of a bye week, following the Cardinal's four-game losing streak, Stanford is looking to take on Colorado on Saturday. The Buffaloes started the season strong with a 3-0 undefeated record but are now 4-2, so Colorado is looking towards getting back on its dominant track.
A main reason for the Buffaloes' continued success is because of their powerhouse quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. This season, Sanders is thriving with a total of 2,020 yards, 16 touchdowns, just two interceptions and a pass completion rate of 72.7 percent.
Stanford Cardinal head coach Troy Taylor praised Sanders on the football field and his ability to convert under any circumstance.
"I think the quarterback is pretty special, he's a tough kid, he continues to compete," Taylor said. "His demeanor is the same even when they go up or go down, he just continues to make plays."
On Saturday, the Buffaloes nearly defeated the Sun Devils with a 43-yard field goal, leaving 12 seconds on the clock. Although Colorado nearly escaped with a win, head coach Deion Sanders was not impressed with his team's recent performance.
"I'm happy about the win but I'm not happy in the fashion that we won it in," coach Sanders said. "We're better than that. We really are better than that, and we got to start showing that. ...
"I'm sick of these consistent holes that we're displaying and the penalties and the things that we're doing. We're so much better. I apologize for my anger ... but I don't accept mediocrity."
The Buffaloes will host the Cardinal on Friday at 9 p.m.
