Cardinal Coach Troy Taylor Thinks Stanford Will 'Bounce Back' in Week 4
Following Stanford's shocking 30-23 loss against Sacramento State on Saturday, Cardinal head coach Troy Taylor has had a lot to think about - quarterback issues, offensive adjustments needing to be made and what to expect from Arizona, their upcoming opponent.
As far as the quarterback position goes, Stanford switches off between Ashton Daniels and Justin Lamson. For the most part, Taylor applauds their effort.
"Generally speaking, you're looking for them to make good decisions and be accurate with the ball," Taylor said. "They've, for the most part, done that, obviously not always."
Taylor thinks that the root of the issue is the inconsistent support from the other offensive positions, however.
"When you're playing quarterback, you're so reliant on other positions, so we have to do better around them and they have to improve, it's not just on the quarterbacks," Taylor said.
However, Taylor believes in the improvement of his players.
"I got confidence those guys...can both play and progress," Taylor said.
One way that Taylor plans on improving his offense is by actively making an effort to dish out more playing time, especially to tight end Benjamin Yurosek.
"I have to be more aware and cognizant of getting him involved in the game," Taylor said. "That will be the point we emphasize this week for sure."
The Cardinal matchup against Arizona on Saturday and "offensively they are incredibly explosive," said Taylor.
Keeping the past in the past, Taylor is confident in his team's ability to bring their A-game in Week 4.
"Our guys are so mentally tough and they're so resilient," Taylor said. "They're so inspirational, to me is how hard they fight, they will bounce back."
