There is often more going on in people's lives than we realize and that is exactly the case for Stanford's four-star defensive line commit Benedict Umeh.

The Avon Old Farms (CT) product ranks as the No. player in the country according to 247Sports' composite rankings, but unfortunately he had his senior season slightly interrupted. In a post on social media on Monday, Umeh revealed that he had finished his chemotherapy.

The post reveals that he has been in and out of the hospital for the past 12 weeks, but was recently able to ring the bell that marks the finishing of his treatment. He also indicated that he is looking to bounce back right away.

Umeh committed to Stanford back in July, choosing the Cardinal over programs such as Duke, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
