Stanford reportedly linked to the ACC

The biggest question in college sports right now is what to make of the remaining Pac-12 schools.
Oregon State, Washington State, Cal and Stanford are the last four standing in what is soon to be a relic of college football. Their options are all different due to having different circumstances, and luckily for Stanford they appear to not only have the most options, but the best option of the four.
They have the brand and past success to go the independent route, and according to ESPN's Pete Thamel may have an option with the ACC.
"There has been some Stanford to the ACC smoke that has emerged..

Thamel revealed on the Pat McAfee Show that it's a possibility that Stanford and maybe even Cal could end up in some portion of an ACC West division. He also touched on the fact that Pac-12 expansion is a possibility, but the value generated would be slightly more than the Mountain West or the American.
Needless to say, if Stanford can make the jump to the ACC who is hoping to keep their powers happy, things could be looking up for the Cardinal.
