Stanford's media day representatives revealed
Stanford football is in the beginning of a new era with former Sacramento State head coach Troy Taylor at the helm.
Taylor was hired after the program's winningest coach of all-time, David Shaw, stepped down following three losing seasons in four years. While only being on the job for a handful of months and still having a major uphill climb to rebuild what Shaw left, Taylor has impressed on the recruiting trail already.
However, heading into the 2023 season there is a common assumption around the country that Stanford will have another down year thanks to all of the departures to the NFL and the portal. They are set to replace their quarterback, entire offensive line, all of their wide receivers, and the entire secondary among other things as well.
This means there are a ton of position battles ahead of the team, and it also means there's a chance for leaders to emerge. On Thursday we may have gotten a sneak peak at who those leaders may be thanks to a social media post by the Pac-12 revealing Stanford's two representatives for Pac-12 media day.
Every program picks a representative form offense and defense. So, the first two representatives of the Troy Taylor era at Stanford are senior wide receiver John Humphreys, who is coming off a career high 29 catches for 348-yards, and  fifth-year linebacker Tristan Sinclair who recorded 37 total tackles and a pick last season.
Both of whom are projected as starters for the team heading into 2023, it will be interesting to see the energy from the players as they embark on a new era of Stanford football, one that is bursting at the seams potential under Taylor.
