Tanner McKee selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 NFL Draft
After being a projected first rounder to start the season, Tanner McKee had to wait quite a while to hear his name called in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In fact, the Stanford signal caller saw 12 other quarterbacks be selected prior to hearing his name called in the sixth round. McKee was drafted with the No. 188 overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he will have a chance to learn behind Jalen Hurts and Oregon legend Marcus Mariota, if he beats out recently signed Ian Book to be the third quarterback on the roster.
In his three seasons at Stanford, McKee threw for over 5,300 yards, 28 touchdowns, while completing 63% of his passes, and also throwing 15 picks. McKee fell victim of an outdated system, poor offensive line, and he is not mobile by any means.
The belief prior to the season was that his arm strength and IQ would be able to parlay McKee into a first round pick.
