Following Colorado's move to the Big 12 this past week, the Pac-12 is in survival mode and may be running out of juice.

Despite presenting a deal with numbers to the remaining nine programs over the past few days, the conference is in a dire situation. They need nothing short of a miracle to stay together, with conferences from across the country eyeing their teams and licking their chops at the thought of adding more programs.

There is a legitimate possibility that the conference ceases to exist after this season, and according to one insider we should know within the next day or so. Yahoo Sports' Dan Wetzel reported the latest updates on the app formerly known as Twitter, and while there is a scenario the Pac-12 survives it doesn't seem likely.

Here is everything you need to know about where the Pac-12 and its teams currently stand.

Everyone is watching Arizona

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Big 12 has been calling for Arizona to follow Colorado, and the future of the Pac-12 could very well hinge on what they do. If Arizona leaves for the Big 12 it likely means that Arizona State and Utah who have formed some sort of pact, will follow. This would be detrimental to the league, and could be another sign of the end.

The Pac-12 can stick together and expand

While this seems to be the most unlikely option of Wetzel's report, he did mention that there is still a belief that the remaining nine schools will stay in the conference. This would allow for them to agree to a new media rights deal, one that is possibly more appealing than the first. It would also allow for them to begin adding expansion candidates like San Diego State, SMU, Colorado State, and whoever else they see fit. If this scenario happens, this wave of realignment is done for now.

The Big Ten is waiting and watching

The Big Ten is reportedly interested in Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and Cal if they decide to jump to 20 teams. However, they have decided to take some sort of moral high ground and don't want to be the reason the Pac-12 dies. As if they didn't get the ball rolling by poaching USC and UCLA. If the Big Ten does add any of the Pac-12 schools, they will come in at discount. However, that discount would be in the range of about $50-65 million according to Wetzel which is double the number we recently saw for the Pac-12.
