While former Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey is currently in the midst of MVP season for the San Francisco 49ers, he will never forget his college roots.

When signing memorabilia for Fanatics, the social media team attempted to sneak in a USC hat. McCaffrey, who was clearly in an autographing groove, immediately noticed and revealed he would not sign the hat. Well, that was until he decided to sign it with a little memento of back when Stanford took on USC in the Pac-12 title game back in 2015.

McCaffrey ended up writing the score which saw Stanford win 41-22, and also wrote his record-breaking stat line of 461 all-purpose yards. He also added in his touchdowns, which consisted of a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown.

McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders' single-season record of 3,250 all-purpose yards, which was set in 1988, and then went on to be robbed of winning a Heisman to end the year. He is now currently breaking records in the NFL, and is looking to lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl title.
