Former Stanford star running back Christian McCaffrey had a meteoric rise to stardom at Stanford.

He burst onto the scene in 2015 after rushing for 2,019 yards, while also adding 645 receiving yards as well and never looked back. The Heisman runner-up was among the most popular and best players in college football, and has continued his success at the NFL level as he and the San Francisco 49ers are one win away from being Super Bowl champs.

With the Super Bowl on Sunday, McCaffrey and his team have been pelted with questions ranging from memes, to the last time they and the Chiefs met in the Super Bowl. However, there was one question that McCaffrey really seemed passionate about answering, which was about his younger brother Luke.

The youngest of the four McCaffrey brothers, Luke has a chance to be drafted in the upcoming NFL Draft following a standout season at Rice where he played receiver. He wasn't always a receiver however, as he was actually recruited to Nebraska as a four-star quarterback.

Things didn't work out in Lincoln, he then transferred to Louisville in February of 2021, before leaving the program shortly after. He landed at Rice where he did get a chance to be a quarterback, but found his calling at receiver in 2022. In his two seasons with the Owls, McCaffrey racked up 129 catches for 1,715 yards, and 19 receiving touchdowns.

A Dream Come True': Luke McCaffrey Hopeful To Team Up With Brother Christian In San Francisco

It also earned him a spot at the Reese's Senior Bowl, where he shined amongst the best draft prospects. He is expected to go in the later rounds, and his older brother Christian revealed on Tuesday that he's hopeful the two will get to play together eventually.

Luke was also asked about the possibility of playing with his older brother, calling it a "dream come true" if it were to happen.

If Luke was in fact drafted by the 49ers, he along with Christian, their father Ed, and their older brother Max would have all played for San Francisco.

Christian has a chance to make history with their father on Sunday, as they can become just the second father-son duo to win the Super Bowl for the same franchise.

What a time to be a member of the McCaffrey family.
