Christian McCaffrey's Two Touchdowns Help The San Francisco 49ers Advance To The Super Bowl

The San Francisco 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl powered by two rushing touchdowns by Christian McCaffrey
In this story:

The San Francisco 49ers found themselves trailing by a score of 24-7 when their NFC Championship game against the Detroit Lions went into the half.

The one score was a Christian McCaffrey touchdown that cut the lead to 14-7, but after that point, the Lions went on to score 10 unanswered to end the first half and held all of the momentum. It was a run that had the stadium as quiet as can be, as fans sat with their mouths wide open while Journey was performing at halftime, still in shock as to how horrendous of a first half the 49ers had.

The 49ers came back in the second half with a vengeance, as they scored 24 second-half points. With San Francisco down by a score of 24-17 late in the third quarter, it was McCaffrey again powering in the score from one yard out to tie the game after a Detroit fumble.

The 49ers forced a punt on the ensuing Lions drive, which San Francisco turned into a field goal to take a 27-24 lead. The Lions then got the ball back and ended up going for it on fourth down rather than kicking the field goal, which they were unable to convert on. San Francisco answered immediately, scoring a touchdown to take a 10-point lead that the Lions were unable to match.

With the win, the 49ers will be heading to Las Vegas to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

As for the former Cardinal star, McCaffrey finished the game with 90 yards rushing and two scores, while also adding 42 receiving yards on four catches.
