Former Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey Made NFL History On Sunday
On Sunday, Stanford and San Francisco 49ers fans saw Christian McCaffrey do something that he has seemingly done his whole career, which is break records and make jaw-dropping plays.
In the midst of what was looking like a beatdown of the Arizona Cardinals, McCaffrey's third score of the day ended up being one that tied a record. After grabbing two touchdown passes, one in the second quarter and the other in the third, McCaffrey powered in a score from one yard out towards the end of the third quarter.
According to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, the rushing touchdown made it 15 career games with both a receiving and rushing touchdown for the former Cardinal star. A mark that ties him with NFL legend Marshall Faulk for the most in NFL history.
Through three-and-a-half quarters, McCaffrey has accumulated 18 carries for 115 yards and a score, while adding five catches for 72 yards and two scores.
The 49ers are winning by a score of 45-22 with a little over two minutes remaining.
