While his MVP candidacy has taken a hit as of late due to the 49ers' loss to the Baltimore Ravens, former Stanford star Christian McCaffrey was named MVP in a different fashion.

Joining former Stanford center Drew Dalman who is with the Atlanta Faclons, McCaffrey was recently named MVP of his position by PFF.

This comes as no surprise to anyone who has witnessed the NFL even in passing this season, as McCaffrey is poised for a career year in multiple categories. The award is based off PFF's WAR metric.

He has already rushed for a career-high 1,395 yards on a career-high 5.4 yards per carry, with 14 touchdowns which is one shy of his best mark he set in 2019. He has also added a career-high receiving seven touchdowns.

According to PFF, McCaffrey has the second-highest grade of all running backs with a 90.6. He and the 49ers will hit the road to take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

He will need a couple of monster games in the two final weeks to boost his MVP stock over Lamar Jackson.
