Former Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee has been making quite the name for himself throughout the preseason for the Philadelphia Eagles.

His service won't be needed as the starter considering they have one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in Jalen Hurts, but has proven himself to be worthy of a roster spot heading into the season. He has consistently outshined Marcus Mariota who is also vying for the backup role, and has even earned the praise of head coach Nick Sirianni.

The Eagles head coach spoke about McKee's latest performance against the Colts and throughout the preseason as written about by On3, complimenting his accuracy and decision making.

“He’s had a really good preseason,” Sirianni said at the halftime break. “I was impressed by the two-minute drive out there against some of their some of their starters. He’s just he’s very composed, he knows where to go with the football and makes accurate throws.”

As it stands right now, he is listed as the third quarterback on the depth chart but there are some speculating that McKee could overtake Mariota as the backup.
