After being drafted in the third round in 2019 by the Indianapolis Colts, former Stanford linebacker Bobby Okereke played in a total of 64 games, registering 49 starts in four years.

Following the expiration of his contract, Okereke hit the open market and found a new home with the New York Giants. A huge get for the Giants who made the playoffs this last season, as Okereke is coming off of a career year this past season recording a career-high 151 tackles. He also added six tackles for a loss, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The deal is a four-years for $40-million, and has widely been regarded as one of the better moves of the free agency period.

According to ProFootballFocus, he compiled a grade of 73.3, with an impressive 79.3 rating against the run. A major improvement compared to his previous two years of garnering a 47.7 (2020) and 58.5 (2021). According to NFL’s NextGen Stats, Okereke generated 75 defensive stops in 2022, which was tied for No. 10 among starting linebackers.

While at Stanford, Okereke recorded a total of 227 total tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, and 10.5 sacks in four seasons on The Farm.
