According to a report earlier in the week, former Stanford star and WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike has signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Storm.

The move comes after she had spent her entire 12-year career with the Los Angeles Sparks, who drafted her with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft. In Los Angeles, she was an eight-time All-Star, and put up 19.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game this past season.

She announced last month she wouldn't be returning to Los Angeles, and was courted by the Phoenix Mercury, Chicago Sky, Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty who ESPN's Romona Shelburne said she gave a "strong consideration" to.

On top of being one of the best players in the league, she is also the president of the WNBA players association.
