After being Stanford's highest rated commit,  four-star tight end Walker Lyons decommited following the news that David Shaw was stepping down as the head coach.

The new staff under Troy Taylor put in a ton of effort to bring Lyons back, but following the news he backed off his pledge, major programs such as Georgia and USC got involved. His recruitment was a mystery following his decision to decommit to Stanford, and was projected to end up at Georgia, but took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that he will be committing to USC.

Lyons, who also was considering Stanford, BYU, and of course Georgia, ranks as the No. 123 recruit in the country and the No. 5 tight end nationally. Trojan fans will have to wait a minute before he will be setting foot on the field, due to the fact that he is leaving to serve his LDS mission, which means he will delay his enrollment until the fall of 2024.
