After beating No. 8 Duke on Friday in what was a tightly contested matchup, No. 9 Stanford beat the Blue Devils up on Saturday to clinch their ticket to the WCWS.

Stanford was able to pull away and never look back, as they bested Duke 7-2. The win makes Stanford 5-0 in their postseason games, which can of course be attributed to dominant pitching.

The win marks the first time since 2004 that Stanford will be playing in the WCWS.

It will be a tough opening matchup for the Cardinal, as they are set to take on No. 1 Oklahoma who are 56-1 this season, and are in the midst of a 48-game winning streak. Oklahoma has won the last two titles, and have won four championships since 2016.
