The mass exodus from Stanford's basketball team continues, as senior forward Brandon Angel was confirmed by On3's Jamie Shaw to have entered his name into the transfer portal.

The decision comes after Angel had the best season of his four-year career in Palo Alto, which saw him average 13 points per game with 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 56% from the field and 44.7% from deep. He is now the fifth player from the roster this past season who has entered his name into the portal following the firing of head coach Jerod Haase. Angel will have one season of eligibility remaining once he chooses his landing spot, while Stanford on the other hand is set to need practically an entire new roster.

As it stands right now, Stanford has five total players in the portal with Angel being joined by Maxime Raynaud, Andrej Stojakovic, Kanaan Carlyle, and Max Murrell. Stanford also saw Spencer Jones, Michael Jones, and James Keefe be honored at senior day meaning that they are likely done, and Providence transfer Jared Bynum who didn't end the season with the team is also expected to no longer be on the team moving forward.

The new head coach will need to hit both the recruiting trail and transfer portal as hard as possible, and maybe convince a couple of the departing players to return. As it stands right now, former walk-on Benny Gealer is the most experienced and productive player on the team.
