Stanford named a finalist for Penn transfer Clark Slajchert
The transfer portal isn't as transactional for Stanford as it is for other programs across the country, but despite the common belief the Stanford Cardinal can get some help from the portal.
Stanford, who has a new head coach in former Washington State head coach Kyle Smith who was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year this past season, has a major rebuild ahead of them. The Cardinal have lost pretty much their entire rotation to the portal or to graduation with just two commits in their 2024 class. Meaning, they need to add eight or nine players whether they be high school recruits or transfer portal players.
On Sunday, they came one step closer to making an addition, as they were named one of the eight finalists for Penn transfer Clark Slajchert.
The guard is a Los Angeles native who led the Quakers in scoring this past season, averaging 18 points, while also dishing out nearly three assists and grabbing three rebounds per game. He did so in an efficient manner as well, shooting 48.7% from the field and 42% from three.
Aside from Stanford, programs such as UCLA, USC, Michigan, and Cal are also among his finalists.
