In this story:

After winning their first three games of the season by an average of 44 points, the No. 6 Stanford Cardinal found themselves leading by 17 in the first quarter against future ACC foe, Duke but needed overtime to escape.

However, the Blue Devils came charging back and cut the lead down to eight at the half, and held Stanford to just 10 points in the third quarter. When it came down to the fourth quarter, the Cardinal and Blue Devils were taking turns leading. Stanford's Brook Demetre hit a three to tie it at 69, but Duke eventually took a 71-69 lead with 46 seconds remaining.

With the game on the line, the Cardinal threw it to Cameron Brink who ended up getting fouled and drilling both her free throws to tie it at 71. Both teams exchanged misses, and it was Stanford with a chance to win the game with one second remaining. After inbounding the ball to Brink, she went up for a shot at the rim and appeared to be fouled as she missed, but there was no call and the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it was Brink and fellow star Kiki Iriafen who came up big for Stanford, as they each hit shots to tie or take the lead. The duo continues to stand out as one of the best in the sport, as they combined for 56 points, 20 rebounds, and six blocks.

Elene Bosgana made a free throw to make it 80-79, and Brink eventually was fouled and pushed the lead to 82-79 with 11 seconds left. Duke tried to tie it up, but ended up missing the try.

With the win, Stanford is now 4-0 on the year and will now turn their attention to Belmont (2-2) in the Ball Dawgs Classic on Wednesday, which will be played in Nevada.
