Syracuse basketball enters the 2023-24 season following the most significant offseason change in program history. Retired is legendary head coach Jim Boeheim and taking over is Adrian Autry. Autry brought in multiple transfers, including former McDonald's All-American and local star JJ Starling along with Chance Westry, Kyle Cuffe and Naheem McLeod. In addition, the Orange was able to retain players such as Judah Mintz, Justin Taylor, Chris Bell, Quadir Copeland, Maliq Brown, Benny Williams, and others despite the coaching change.

Beyond the roster construction, coach Autry is also looking to change how Syracuse plays. The Orange is expected to be a much more up tempo offensive team while switching from its patented 2-3 zone to man to man on the defensive end. There is palpable buzz from Syracuse fans hoping to return to the level of basketball that was so constant over most of coach Boeheim's career.
