Dyaisha Fair Will Return to Syracuse Basketball Next Season
Syracuse women's basketball's 2022-23 is still ongoing as it prepares for the Super 16 in the WNIT, but it has already received some great news for next year's roster. Star guard Dyaisha Fair announced she will return to the Orange for her final year of collegiate eligibility.
"Thanking the man above who is the head of my life for all that he has done for me," Fair wrote in a social media post. "I appreciate my family for all of their love and support through thick and thin. To all of my fans, I want to personally thank you for allowing me to be a continued inspiration. To everyone that has uplifted me throughout this process, thank you.
"But who would have though this 'Fair Journey' of mine would have brought me this far. Who would have thought that after 17 long years of dreaming, I'd be tiptoeing at the edge of just that, 'My Dream.' I never thought I would end up here at Syracuse University. Leaving Buffalo, playing not 1, 2, 3 or 4 years under Coach Jack. But, who would've thought that I would play a 5th!
"Orange Nation I'm back!"
Fair has put together one of the best seasons in Syracuse women's basketball history so far this year, averaging 20 points, 4.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game while shooting 37% from beyond the arc. She is one of the most dynamic players in women's college basketball and will bring that back to SU next season.
The Orange faces Columbia Friday night with a chance to advance to the WNIT quarterfinals.
