How Saturday's Games Impact Syracuse Basketball's ACC Tournament Seeding
There are seven games on the ACC men's basketball schedule on Saturday. Most will have an impact on ACC Tournament seeding, but there are only two that Syracuse fans will want to monitor. They are Clemson at Wake Forest and NC State at Pittsburgh. With those two games, there are three scenarios for the Orange. They are as follows.
SCHEDULE
Clemson at Wake Forest: 6:00 p.m. Eastern (ACC Network)
NC State at Pittsburgh: 7:45 p.m. Eastern (CW Network)
SCENARIO 1: PITT & WAKE FOREST WIN
If both home teams win, Syracuse would be the seven seed in the ACC Tournament. That would mean its first game would be at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday March 13th. As the seven seed, with a win in its first game, the Orange would face two seed in the quarterfinals. The two seed is still to be determined based on the outcome of North Carolina at Duke Saturday night. The loser would be the two seed while the winner gets the one.
SCENARIO 2: PITT & WAKE FOREST LOSE
If both home teams lose, Syracuse jumps up to the five seed in the ACC Tournament. As a result, its first game would be Wednesday March 13th at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. As the five seed, with a win in its first game, the Orange would play the four seed Clemson in the quarterfinals in this scenario.
SCENARIO 3: PITT & WAKE FOREST SPLIT
If one wins and one loses, Syracuse would be locked into the six seed in the ACC Tournament. Its first game would be 9:30 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday March 13th. As the six seed, Syracuse would face the three seed in the quarterfinals if it can win its first time. The three seed will be Virginia.
