Oshae Brissett Inks Free Agency Deal With Boston Celtics
Former Syracuse forward Oshae Brissett is on the move in the NBA. After spending the most of his career with the Indiana Pacers through this past season, Brissett has signed a two year free agency deal with the Boston Celtics, according to various reports. Brissett now joins one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics were in the Eastern Conference Finals last season before falling to the Miami Heat. The year before the Celtics lost in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
Brissett broke into the NBA as an undrafted free agent with the Toronto Raptors. During the 2019-20 season, he spent time with the Raptors and earned some playing time appearing in 19 games. Brissett then went to the Pacers, where he spent three seasons, with his greatest contributions coming in the 2021-22 season.
During that year, Brissett appeared in 67 games, starting 25, and averaged 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting over 35% from three point range. Brissett took a step back in his production last season, seeing fewer minutes, starting fewer games and seeing a slight decrease in his efficiency.
Despite that, the former Orange star brings versatility and depth to a Celtics team that has its eyes on a championship next season.
