Syracuse men's basketball topped Niagara 83-71 in the JMA Wireless Dome Thursday night. With the win, the Orange improved to 9-3 on the season and non-conference play is in the rearview mirror. The Purple Eagles dropped to 3-8. Next up for Syracuse is nine days off before hosting Pittsburgh in the Dome in its ACC home opener. That game tips at noon on Saturday, December 30th and will be broadcast on CW.

The game was a back and forth affair for the first 11 minutes before an 11-0 run from Syracuse provided some breathing room. The Orange took a 10 point edge into the locker room.

That edge would swell to as much as 19 before Niagara cut into the deficit in garbage time. The Purple Eagles never seriously threatened in the second half as the Orange cruised to victory.

Judah Mintz led Syracuse in scoring with 18 points. He also dished out four assists, grabbed four rebounds and had two steals. Maliq Brown had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Quadir Copeland had another strong all around game with 12 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. Justin Taylor added 11 points on 3-4 shooting from three point range.

Luke Bumbalough led all scorers with 26 points for Niagara. He also made six three pointers as he tried to keep the Purple Eagles in the game.

Title: Publisher All Syracuse Education: Roberts Wesleyan College Location: Syracuse, New York Expertise: Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting.  EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans.  After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years.  Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.  Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more.
