Syracuse quarterback turned tight end turned quarterback Dan Villari said in previous weeks that his expectations are not to simply make a bowl game. He expects Syracuse to compete for ACC championships. After the Orange's win over Wake Forest to clinch a second straight bowl berth, Villari was asked what he thinks needs to change next year to achieve his expectations.

"I would just say a couple culture things, couple discipline things that I don't want to get into," Villari said. "The talent is there. One hundred percent. Just some other things that got to be fixed up. I came from Michigan. I definitely saw how a great program operates. Just a couple of things but I feel like it's going to be turned around."

It will be an interesting offseason with a lot of change. Syracuse will have a new head coach next year which will also mean attrition via the transfer portal both players leaving and new ones coming in. It also means there will be turnover within the rest of the coaching staff. How much remains to be seen.

The good news for the Orange is that it has a favorable schedule in 2024 which should help the new head coach have a successful first year at the helm.

Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site.
