Syracuse football released its spring roster on Tuesday and five notable names were missing. Defensive back Rob Hanna, defensive back Neil Nunn, defensive lineman Garth Barclay, offensive lineman Anthony Red and quarterback JaCobian Morgan. A spokesperson for Syracuse football confirmed the roster is accurate and they were not included. The reason for their absence is not known at this time, but it would suggest they are no longer part of the program.

Hanna has seen his playing time decrease over his three seasons with the Orange. In 2020 as a freshman, he recorded 55 tackles and one interception. In 2021, he had 30 tackles with one sack. This past season he had just 19 tackles along with a forced fumble. Hanna signed with the Orange as part of its 2020 recruiting class out of Miami Palmetto High in Florida over offers from Boston College, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Washington State and others.

Nunn has played very sparingly over his three seasons at Syracuse. He has recorded just four total tackles and did not record a stat last season. He signed with Syracuse also out of Miami Palmetto High as part of the 2019 recruiting class over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, NC State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and others.

Morgan played a decent amount in 2020 as a true freshman due to injury. He say extremely limited action in 2021 and did not record any statistics in 2022. Morgan completed 32 of 50 passes for 288 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions during his Orange career. He signed with SU out of Canton High in Mississippi as part of the 2020 recruiting class over offers from Jackson State and Austin Peay.

Barclay came to Syracuse out of York Suburban in Pennsylvania in the 2020 recruiting class an offensive lineman. He was unable to crack the two deep there and switched to defensive line last season but did not play meaningful snaps.

Red has been a backup offensive lineman on the two deep the last two seasons after signing with the Orange out of St. Thomas More High in Connecticut.

Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans.  After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years.  Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.  Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market.
