Brendan Zurbrugg Flips From Syracuse to Northwestern
Class of 2024 Alliance (OH) High quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg has flipped his commitment from Syracuse to Northwestern. He committed to the Orange on June 18th and flipped to the Wildcats eight days later. Northwestern extended an offer right before his visit to Syracuse, which took place the weekend of June 16th. Syracuse received a commitment from four star quarterback Jakhari Williams on Sunday, leaving them with one quarterback this cycle to date.
"It just felt like home since the second I got there," Zurbrugg said after committing to Syracuse. "The staff are very good people and coaches that I want to play for. I wouldn't say it was one moment, it was everything over the course of the weekend that made me want to call Syracuse home."
During his junior season, Zurbrugg threw for 2,184 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes as a junior. He also ran for 804 yards and 11 more scores. In addition to being a football star at Alliance High, Zurbrugg is also an accomplished track athlete. He runs the 300m hurdles and 110m hurdles, and even won the regional title in the 300m. Zubrugg was an All Eastern Buckeye Conference selection in both.
Zubrugg is rated a three star prospect by On3. He is not rated by 247Sports, ESPN or Rivals.
