David McMorris Commits to Syracuse Football
Syracuse football has landed a commitment from Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga defensive lineman David McMorris, he announced on social media. McMorris, a 6-2, 255 pound defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class, picked the Orange over offers from Boston College, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia and several others. McMorris officially visited Syracuse over the weekend.
He is the second defensive lineman to officially visit Syracuse this past weekend and commit to the Orange. The number one player in Delaware, Tristen Graham,
committed on Sunday. Just a couple of days later, McMorris has added his name to Syracuse's 2024 recruiting class.
According to Max Preps, McMorris had 42 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in nine games during his junior season. McMorris is rated a three star prospect by On3 Recruiting, ranked as the 45th best defensive linemen in the class and the third best player in Washington (D.C.). He has not been evaluated, nor rated, by 247Sports, ESPN or Rivals.
The addition of McMorris brings Syracuse football's 2024 recruiting class to five players. McMorris is joined by the aforementioned Graham, running back Trashon Dye, linebacker Travon Dye and offensive lineman Noah Rosahac. The Orange is expected to add more to its class this month with official visits taking place over the next three weekends.
