Elite 2025 WR LaMason Waller Has Strong Relationship With Syracuse
LaMason Waller stars for Sultana High in California and is one of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class. Considered an athlete but being recruited by most as a wide receiver, Waller is a four star prospect on 247Sports, Rivals and On3. He is a top 100 overall prospect according to 247Sports rankings. The 6-2, 170 pound wideout's offer list is consistent with that ranking. It includes Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah, Washington, Washington State and West Virginia, among others.
The Orange has been recruiting him for a while, led by assistant coach Mike Johnson.
"One or twice a week from coach Mike Johnson," Waller said. "Talk about ball, talk about life, talk about family and he checks up on me sometimes. He's a really good guy."
Those conversations have led to a strong relationship between Waller and Johnson.
"It's really good and strong," Waller said. "We've built a great bond. He came to my school and had a meeting with me and my mom. He also has a good bond with my mom and that's important to me."
The next set is getting Waller on the Syracuse campus to showcase the program and how he would be used in the Orange offense. A date has not been finalized yet, but both sides are hoping to make that happen this spring.
"I'm interested in the program a ton," Waller said. "I've built a great bond with coach Johnson. That is my guy. And I obviously love the academic standpoint of the school. They are in a good spot with me as far as recruiting."
During his sophomore season, Waller had 64 catches for 1,057 yards and 15 touchdowns.
