Florida Defensive Line Transfer Will Norman Locks in Syracuse Official Visit
Syracuse football will host Florida transfer defensive lineman Will Norman for an official visit this weekend, he announced on social media Wednesday morning. Norman was a true freshman at Florida last season, but redshirted after playing in four games. He has four years of eligibility remaining. He recorded one tackle in those four games and is listed at 6-4, 300 pounds. Norman is a former class of 2023 consensus four star recruit who was heavily pursued by the previous Orange staff.
Rivals ranked Norman as the 91st best player in his class overall and seventh best defensive lineman as well as the second best player in New Jersey. 247Sports ranked him as the third best player in the Garden State, while ESPN included him among its top 300 prospects in his cycle. Norman signed with the Gators over offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia and West Virginia, among many others.
Syracuse has already landed one player from the transfer portal in Georgia wide receiver Jackson Meeks. The Orange has also been linked to Texas A&M defensive lineman Fadil Diggs, Georgia wide receiver Yazeed Haynes, Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord, Buffalo quarterback Cole Snyder and others.
