Class of 2026 wing Imahri Wooten is rated a four star prospect and ranked as a top 40 player. He is currently at Compass Prep in Arizona after previously playing for Redemption Christian in Troy (NY). Over the weekend, Wooten was on the Syracuse campus for an unofficial visit and picked up an offer on the trip.

"I wasn't surprised," Wooten said. "He (Adrian Autry) had already seen me in the summer. I think he just forgot to offer me because I didn't go to elite camp."

Overall, Wooten enjoyed his time on campus.

"It was really good, I liked it a lot," Wooten said. "Because I'm a sophomore, it was just an unofficial visit so it was only one day. What I liked best was probably when the head coach (Adrian Autry) showed me around and when we were talking. I also liked taking the pictures after practice."

Coach Autry is very familiar with Wooten and family. Wooten's mom and aunt both played basketball at Syracuse at the same time as coach Autry. Wooten's mom has kept in touch with coach Autry over the years as well. According to Wooten's aunt, the offer was a full circle moment for the family. Coach Autry spent a lot of time with Wooten during the visit.

"We talked about how I would fit on the team and just saying how they would love to have me," Wooten said. "I think he's a great person and great coach."

The 6-5, 180 pounder also got to watch practice while on campus.

"I thought practice was good," Wooten said. "What stood out was the end when they played five on five. You really got to see the players' talent."

It is still very early in the recruiting process for Wooten, who says he is very interested in Syracuse but not close to making any decisions. In addition to the Orange, Wooten holds offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, St. Bonaventure, Wichita State and others.
