Javon Lawrence Commits to Syracuse
Syracuse football has its second commitment of the 2025 cycle as North Rockland (NY) High defensive back Javon Lawrence pledged Orange Friday night. Lawrence is a 6-2, 170 pound defensive back who is blazing fast, running a 10.7 in the 100-meters. That roughly translates to a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash. He was offered by Syracuse earlier this month and committed less than two weeks later. It was Lawrence's first division one offer.
He joins four star edge Sharlandin Strange as commitments in Syracuse's 2025 recruiting class to date.
Lawrence plays corner and safety at North Rockland High. With his length and speed has the potential to play anywhere in the secondary at the collegiate level. This is the definition of an under the radar prospect as he did not even have profiles on any of the major recruiting services websites prior to his decision. This can happen with New York State recruits, however, as much of the state is overlooked and not heavily recruited.
The Orange will have a busy few months with a plethora of recruits visiting for spring practice, camps over the summer and official visits in the summer as well. These will have a significant impact on Syracuse's 2025 recruiting efforts.
