Jayden Brown Commits to Syracuse Football, Discusses Decision
Class of 2024 Ramsey (NJ) Don Bosco linebacker Jayden Brown has committed to Syracuse. Brown, a 6-3, 220 pound linebacker, is one of the top players at his position in the Northeast. He was on an official to Syracuse this past weekend, which sealed the deal and resulted in him ending his recruitment. Brown chose the Orange over offers from Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.
"It was the best fit for me," Brown said. "I love what coach Babers is building and the players made me feel at home."
On his official visit, he was hosted by linebacker Mekhi Mason.
"It was great hanging out with him," Brown said. "The guys, they made me feel at home and said all positive things about Cuse and how they take care of you."
Syracuse was one of the first schools to offer Brown back in April of 2022. The Orange was the fourth program to offer Brown, behind UConn, Maryland and Rutgers. Syracuse has been recruiting him hard ever since, and that resulted in his commitment on his official visit.
Brown is rated a three star prospect by 247Sports, On3 and Rivals. He is currently unrated by ESPN. 247Sports ranks Brown as the 106th best linebacker in the 2024 class. On3 puts Brown 123rd at his position, while Rivals has Brown as the 19th best prospect in New Jersey regardless of position.
During his junior season, Brown accumulated 47 tackles and six tackles for loss according to Max Preps.
