Koy Beasley on Final Decision After Syracuse Visit: 'We'll See on Signing Day'
Class of 2024 four star Cincinnati (OH) La Salle cornerback Koy Beasley is currently committed to Purdue. However, since Fran Brown took over as Syracuse head coach, the Orange have been in hot pursuit as one of its top priorities this cycle. That culminated with an official visit over the weekend.
"The visit was good," Beasley said. "Some of the best parts were meeting with coach Fran, hanging out with some of the guys during free time, and going to the meetings to see what Syracuse is all about."
His one on one meeting with coach Brown was one of the highlights of the trip.
"He was just saying how he wants to coach me," Beasley said. "He thinks I could be a good fit in what they're trying to do. It was a good meeting. Got a lot of information out of him. I think he's going to be visiting me and my family again sometime next week."
Spending time with the current Syracuse players and getting their insight into the program was also impactful.
"I had Jayden Bellamy," Beasley said. "I hung out with him and his roommates. They were saying that they know Fran and that he coached them at a different school. How he's real genuine and that the program is going in the right direction. How they're going to start winning more games and things like that."
During the visit, the recruits got to attend a hibachi dinner in the Dome and check out a limited edition Ferrari.
"To be honest, the Dome was way bigger than I expected," Beasley said. "The hibachi stuff and all that was cool. The Ferrari, they said it was like one out of 250 in the world. So that was cool to see and take pictures behind."
The coaches also communicated their plans for Beasley and how he would be used at Syracuse.
"Really that I can play man," Beasley said. "They want me to play corner so I'll be able to guard, and I can run so I can come down and make tackles. Really just be part of the new wave and set the ground for coach Fran's team."
Beasley also took note of the amenities afforded football players as well as the campus itself.
"All the campus and facilities were nice," Beasley said. "Where the players stayed was nice. Some of the best apartments I've seen. Campus was cool. We didn't get to see classrooms and things like that, but walking around it seemed like a good area and good atmosphere."
Getting a closer look at Syracuse enhanced his view of the school and football program.
"After the visit, it really changed," Beasley said. "I didn't expect it go this well. Syracuse, we'll see down the line after coach Fran visits. We'll see what goes on from there. Really no other plans. I'm not taking any other visits. We'll see on signing day."
Beasley is a four star prospect considered a top 150 player in the 2024 class. In addition to Syracuse and Purdue, he holds offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, USC, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
