1. Marcus Adams
Marcus Adams released his top five but then tweeted out over the weekend that he is still wide open in his recruitment. What does this mean for the timeframe he stated during his post official visit interview with us (February 18-25)? Well, we do not know. It could mean it gets delayed because he will not have the opportunity to visit elsewhere. His high school playoffs have each weekend booked unless his team loses early, which is not expected. So it could extend into the spring, or he could just be trying to get people off of the scent. I think he does want to evaluate all options by taking visits to see what schools have to offer. That said, I think Syracuse made a big impression during the visit and remain in a good spot for him as of now.
2. Kiyan Anthony
Anthony is transferring high schools. He is leaving Chris the King and will join Long Island Lutheran. The class of 2025 guard is the son of Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony and holds an offer from the Orange. While he is listed at 6-3, a recent photo posted by Eric Devendorf suggests he could be pushing 6-6. That growth spurt combined with his shot making ability make him a very intriguing prospect in the 2025 class. Expect Syracuse to stay heavily involved.
3. William Patterson
The class of 2023 big is still a target of Syracuse and is looking at potentially the weekend of the Duke game for an official visit. TCU and Oklahoma State are the other high major programs involved. The seven footer was superb during Syracuse elite camp last August and the Orange has prioritized him ever since. As of now, it sounds as if Patterson is targeting an April decision. Depending on how the official goes, however, Syracuse is going to try to move that timeframe up.
4. Micah Ford
Switching gears to football, one of Syracuse's top targets in the 2024 class is New Jersey athlete Micah Ford. In addition to the Orange, he holds offers from Maryland, Temple, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others. Syracuse made a big impression during his Junior Day visit. He is one to keep an eye on as Syracuse has clearly made him a priority this cycle.
