We predict who will end up in Syracuse basketball's 2024 recruiting class.
GUARDS (2)
Elijah Moore: Moore is currently committed to Syracuse and remains a solid verbal pledge. I do not see him going anywhere.
Mikey Lewis: A recent guard offeree, Lewis led the EYBL's first session in scoring and saw his recruitment blow up a bit as a result. That included an offer from the Orange. I think Syracuse gets a visit and blows him away on it to ultimately land him. This is a bit of going out on a limb since Syracuse is new to his recruitment, but I am going there anyway. Lewis seemed genuinely interested when I spoke with him after his offer, and Syracuse does a great job impressing on official visits. If Syracuse can get him on campus, they have a very real shot.
FORWARDS (1)
Donnie Freeman: Syracuse knocked Freeman's official visit out of the park and currently are the favorites to land him. I think that comes to fruition in the near future.
CENTER (1)
Patrick Ngongba: Another new offer for Syracuse, Ngongba is one of the top rebounding and shot blocking bigs in the class. He is also an AAU teammate of Donnie Freeman. I think Syracuse first gets Freeman and he helps the Orange recruit Ngongba.
NOTABLE MISSES
Jalil Bethea: Syracuse has done an excellent job with Bethea to date and has a very realistic shot at landing him. However, his recruitment has blown up with blue bloods starting to get involved including a recent Kansas offer. He had a monster game at the most recent EYBL session, scoring 34 points on 14-17 shooting and 5-5 from three point range. His stock will only continue to rise, so it is hard to predict him to the Orange right now. Syracuse remains heavily involved.
Curtis Givens: One of the top point guards in the class, Givens recently told me he has not heard from Syracuse in a while. Because of that and who he is focused on in his recruitment currently, this was easy to pick as a miss for the Orange.
Thomas Sorber: Syracuse's involvement with Sorber has been a bit of a rollercoaster. There has not been much buzz with him and the Orange recently and he has still yet to visit. Therefore I do not expect him to be in Syracuse's class when all is said and done.
