Syracuse basketball will have a zoom meeting with the top big in the transfer portal, Hunter Dickinson, on Wednesday according to Marty Mush, college basketball insider for Barstool Sports. Mush also reported that Dickinson is expected to visit Georgetown and Maryland this weekend. Dickinson is transferring from Michigan, where he was a star for the last three years, averaging 17.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game over that span while shooting 57.0% from the floor an 36.0% from three point range. This past season, he averaged 18.5 points, a career high 9.0 rebounds, a career high 1.8 blocks per game while shooting 56.0% overall and a career high 42.1% from beyond the arc. Kentucky is another school reported to be interested in the 7-1, 260 pounder.

The news comes just one day after Jesse Edwards entered the transfer portal after electing not to return to the Orange. Syracuse is also reportedly hosting North Texas big Abou Ousmane for an official visit next week, according to Adam Zagoria.

Syracuse has already landed a high profile transfer in guard JJ Starling from Notre Dame. Can the Orange do it again by adding Dickinson to fill the void left by Edwards? Syracuse has a starting spot to offer and has connections to him stemming from new assistant Brenden Straughn’s recruiting ties. The key will be to get him on campus for a visit.
