Syracuse Legacy Caden Brown Commits to the Orange, Discusses Decision
Class of 2024 Brooklyn (NY) Erasmus Hall edge Caden Brown has committed to Syracuse, he announced following an official visit over the weekend. Brown picked the Orange over offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Washington and West Virginia, among others.
"I picked Syracuse because of my relationship with the coaches," Brown said."Coach Fran, coach Elijah, coach Nick and coach Rob. They all are great and I feel a connection with them. I also chose Syracuse because my dad played here and I want to continue the legacy. Another reason is because I want to represent New York and New York City. I want to show players can make it out of New York and be successful. Especially out of New York City. They have so many majors, I'm going to have a hard time choosing. But after all the academic meetings we had, I'm going to look closely at Sports Management. It sounds interesting."
Brown's dad is Alban Brown who played for the Orange from 1987 to 1989. Caden says it means a lot to follow in his dad's footsteps.
"My dad played football for Syracuse in the 80s, so I'm happy to follow him and play at the school that he played at before me."
The 6-4, 215 pounder is rated a high three star prospect by all four major recruiting services. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals rank him as a top five player in New York State.
