Class of 2024 Twin Brothers Travon Dye & Trashon Dye Commit to Syracuse Football
Class of 2024 twin brothers Travon Dye and Trashon Dye, who star for Passaic County Tech in New Jersey, have both committed to Syracuse, they announced Saturday night. Travon is being recruited as a linebacker while Trashon is an athlete who could play a variety of positions. They become the second and third players in the Orange's 2024 recruiting class, joining wide receiver Syair Torrence.
The Dye twins visited Syracuse last spring and earned offers shortly thereafter. Travon is listed at 6-2, 210 pounds while Trashon is listed at 6-0, 200 pounds. Trashon had 1,238 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns during his junior season and was named first team all-state. Travon was named first team all North Jersey and received all-state honors after leading the team with 137 tackles and added 4.5 sacks with three forced fumbles.
"It was awesome," Travon Dye said of his visit last spring. "We toured almost the entire campus, learned about the rich history of Syracuse football and all about the number 44. We took a photo shoot and met with some great coaches who made us feel extremely welcomed. The best part I would say would have been how welcomed and at home I felt the coaches and a few players were extremely uplifting.
"The energy was great. It was great hearing they liked our film and that we're very explosive athletes. They even stayed for a little portion of the photo shoot. Overall it was a great experience and the school and everyone there was amazing."
Trashon also enjoyed his time on campus.
"It was great," Trashon Dye said. "We entered the facility and instantly there were all types of Cuse accolades. The walls had great players like Jim Brown. We met some coaches and they were really cool. They made us feel very welcomed. We took pictures next to the original (Ernie Davis) Heisman Trophy and toured the campus. It was very nice.
"One of the main goals at Syracuse would be to help you, most importantly, leave with a degree. We walked past the quad. He showed us where all our classes would be and how accessible everything was. Once the tour came to an end, we walked past the three statues of Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. We talked about what it meant to play Syracuse football and the significance of number 44. We really enjoyed the visit."
