William Patterson Locks in Syracuse Official Visit
Class of 2023 center William Patterson will officially visit Syracuse basketball this coming weekend and be in attendance when the Orange faces Duke in the Dome Saturday night, a source tells All Syracuse. Patterson is a 7-2 center who plays for Bishop Walsh High School in Maryland but is originally from Brooklyn. He also holds offers from Oklahoma State, TCU and Rutgers, among others.
Patterson earned his offer in August after a strong Elite Camp performance, but had been in contact with the Syracuse coaches for months prior to that. His lead recruiter is Allen Griffin.
"It was after the last game," Patterson said after his offer. "We finished out pretty well even though we didn't win the last game. I had a couple dunks, blocks, steals, got to dribble up the court a little. The offer just came from relationships with the coaches. I was very surprised and very grateful. It just shows the amount of work I put in, so I was very grateful when he came over."
Syracuse's 2023 class is currently empty, but the Orange is hoping that will change with Patterson's recruitment. He has targeted April for a potential decision, but, as is always the case in recruiting, nothing is set in stone.
