The Texas A&M Aggies usher in a new era in 2024 with a new head coach, new staff, and a ton of new players entering as freshmen and through the transfer portal.

But as much as things are changing in College Station, they appear to be staying the same.

The Aggies will once again be known for defense, even as Collin Klein rebuilds the offense in his vision. New head coach Mike Elko and new defensive coordinator Jay Bateman will continue the Aggieland tradition of a smothering defense.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football ranked the top 10 safeties in college football in the state of Texas entering the 2024 season, and the Aggies have No. 4 on the list.

No. 4 Bryce Anderson, Texas A&M

2023 Production: 55 tackles, 7 TFL, 1.5 Sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 5 PBU

Few secondary players in the state can fill a stat sheet like the aggressive Anderson. He did a bit of everything for the Wrecking Crew defense as the nickel back. He'll need to be a leader of a revamped secondary under Mike Elko, & Co.

Texas Longhorns safety Jahdae Barron took the No. 1 spot followed by SMU's Isaiah Nwokobia, and Texas State's Kaleb Culp who round out the top 3.
