COLLEGE STATION -- Two programs that overexceeded expectations in 2022 have regressed to begin SEC play. Can one rebound before things get out of control.

Texas A&M returns to Blue Bell Park following a 5-2 midweek loss to in-state rival Texas with the intent of getting back on track. Losers of four straight, Jim Scholssnagle is looking for balance at the plate, but also on the mound from his rotation to set the tone.

On the opposing side sits Ole Miss, last season's national champion under longtime manager Mike Bianco. The Rebels (15-9, 0-6 SEC) have suffered back-to-back series sweeps against Vanderbilt and Florida. On Tuesday, Ole Miss traveled to Pearl to take on Southern Miss, but the game was called after the fourth inning due to issues with sod on the infield.

The Aggies (15-10, 1-6 SEC) have fared only slightly better following their College World Series run, stealing a Sunday win earlier this month against top-ranked LSU to avoid a pair of sweeps. Last weekend, the Aggies were outscored 27-17 thanks to stellar pitching from Vols' Chase Dollander and Drew Bean.

Another series sweep could put the Aggies out of contention early to host a regional should they make the NCAA Tournament. Even then, A&M simply could use a win to find its direction after a woeful month of March.

Which teams will come out on top? Follow along with AllAggies.com live from Blue Bell Park as Nathan Dettmer makes his sixth start of the season against junior right-hander Jack Dougherty.
